Intervention & Family Guidance
Intervention, Family Guidance & Transition Into Treatment…
For those of whom are struggling with drug addiction or alcoholism, the reality of stopping this viscous cycle and entering a drug rehab program is often times beyond the scope of realistic. It isn’t so much that they don’t want to, rather, it’s more so a matter of they simply cannot either see the reality of the problem or physically bring themselves to facing it.
The intervention process is such that it is uniquely designed per the family’s specific needs. In most cases, the interventionist will travel to the family’s (and the patient’s) location a day or two prior to the actual event, at which point they will sit and discuss the entirety of the plan with each member taking part in the intervention. The process is very specialized and requires a vast level of expertise in order to properly navigate all of the potential variations.
Addiction Intervention by AARC Specialists
The clinical staff at Arizona Addiction Recovery Center offers an enormous background & expertise in setting up an effective intervention plan. In fact, our interventionists are able to get the individual patient safely into treatment over 90% of the time!
While no two interventions are alike, in most cases these events consist of each of the following components:
- Logistics and coordination
- Guiding each family member, friend, colleague, etc.
- Travel arrangements for treatment
- Back-up plans and contingencies
- Background into the patient’s drug usage
- Arrangements for any potential need for medical detoxification.
- Overall health and safety of everyone involved
We are often faced with a number of questions and concerns on the part of family members, the most common of which being, “What if the individual is unwilling to enter a treatment center?” It is important to understand that this process is not an exact science and requires a special set of skills, however, we always enter this process with a concrete goal for success and an alternative option that will be very unappealing to the individual. Essentially, this is one of those cases where we work as a collective to do whatever is needed (within reason) to get him or her onto that plane or into that car, and ultimately into residential treatment.
AARC offers substance abuse intervention and family guidance services throughout the entire U.S. and even Canada. Additionally, we have a network of highly regarded providers located nationwide and are able to bring a plan into motion within several hours following your initial call.
